The essential accessory of tea tasting is indisputably the teapot. Round, flat, terracotta, glass, cast iron … There are all shapes and for all tastes! We make light on the different teapots to help you choose the one that suits you best.
To taste a tea is an art. Water quality and temperature, brew time, color and leaf quality are all important considerations. The choice of the teapot plays a vital role in brewing and tasting your tea. Thus, it is the material of the teapot that will guide your choice at first.
THE TEAPOTS SAY “WITH MEMORY”
The terracotta unglazed teapots are porous and, therefore, they retain the aromas over the infusions. It is said that the teapot “knops” with time, that is to say that a blackish deposit is formed on the walls. This is what will allow the teapot to retain the aromas of infusions and restore them thereafter. They are particularly suitable for black teas and wulong teas. But be careful to use a teapot for each family or tea color! Over time, your terracotta teapot will be fat and you can get a real harmonic line, provided you do not mix the flavors. By taking care of your teapot, it will take care of aromas and will take value over time. Thus, the teapots of some great tea masters, artfully chewed for months or even years, are selling for gold!

THE “NO MEMORY” TEASES
If you like to change your tea regularly, or simply lack room in your kitchen, “no memory” teapots will be more suitable for your consumption. These are teapots cast iron, glass, porcelain or terracotta glazed. Once washed, they do not retain the aromas of previous infusions. You will be able to infuse all families of tea without repercussion on the following infusions. Note that cast iron also has the advantage of keeping the tea warm for one to two hours.

MAINTENANCE OF THE TEA TREE
To maintain your teapot, simply rinse with boiling water and let it dry. When you’re not using it, remember to leave it open for aeration. And if you only have one golden rule: whatever its material, never use soap or dishwashing liquid, let alone put it in the dishwasher, which is too abrasive.

A QUESTION OF FORM … AND TASTE!
It is also possible to choose your teapot according to the shape of the tea leaves. Thus, a tea composed of flat leaves (like a sencha green tea) will be sublimated by rather flat teapots, and those composed of rolled or beaded leaves agree with rounder teapots.
True object of decoration, you can as well choose your teapot according to your tastes and its design. You will be able to find your happiness in the infinity of colors, shapes and decorations …
And you, what teapot did you adopt?
